IT and sustainable development:

IT has a major direct environmental impact. Indeed, this sector alone accounts for 2% of CO² emissions worldwide, the same figure as for aviation.

The lifecycle for computers has a direct impact on our environment, including pollution, use of heavy metals and toxic products, and significant energy consumption levels..

IT companies’ data centers are responsible for nearly one quarter of the total carbon emissions produced by this sector.

Just some of the environmental issues on which AXA Technology Services is able to act in order to contribute to the AXA Group’s sustainable development policy.

Objectives of our Green Computing approach

• Promote IT across the Group as a key enabler to uphold our corporate responsibility commitments on a daily basis. 
• Generate savings on energy spending and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. 
• Contribute to the AXA Group’s sustainable development: reducing water and paper consumption by 15% and energy and CO2 emissions by 20%
• Participate in the development of AXA’s image in terms of environmental issues
