AXA Technology Services: a responsible business
Committed to safeguarding the world around us, integrating the environment and supporting social philanthropy and responsible practices.
AXA Technology Services’ commitment to implementing a sustainable development strategy is built around two foundations:
- The Green Computing program, aimed at optimizing the AXA Group's IT resources in line with the principles of sustainable development,
- Social volunteering through the AXA Hearts In Action association.
AXA Hearts In Action: a voluntary commitment by staff on community outreach initiatives
In 1991, AXA created AXA Hearts In Action, grouping together staff from around the world looking to make a personal commitment outside of their work time on volunteering actions with existing associations.
AXA Hearts In Action builds bridges between these associations and the company's employees who wish to participate as volunteers in community outreach initiatives.
AXA Hearts In Action covers a wide range of fields, from disability to health, assistance for victims of natural disasters, and social exclusion.
It operates based on the commitment of its volunteers who carry out actions in the field in their own free time, making their skills (IT, legal, accounting, etc.) and their time available to the various partner associations.
The subjects covered are chosen by the staff volunteers in light of local issues.
A commitment example against aids
A campaigning yacht, combining sports competition with the fight against aids.
Since 2005, the yacht's owner and skipper, Erik Nigon, has brought AIDES on board for his project to support this cause, which he is particularly committed to.
AIDES is one of the main European associations fighting to defend and support people with the aids virus or hepatitis.
Erik, an AXA Technology Services employee and AXA Hearts in Action volunteer since 1992, has been making his time and his boat available to represent this association in races such as the Solitaire du Figaro solo race and the Transat AG2R tandem competition.
The Class 40 yacht with the red ribbon (logbooks on www.axaatoutcoeur.aides.org) has competed in the Solidaire du Chocolat in 2009.
